Pumpkin Spice Isn’t the Only Fall Flavor: 4 Cozy Drinks to Try This Fall

When you think of Fall coffee flavors, you probably think of Pumpkin Spice first. Understandably so, it is the OG influencer and when it enters the chat, you know that Fall has arrived. Is it predictable? Maybe. Is it still delicious? Absolutely. But it’s not the only flavor that feels like “Fall.” Let’s talk about 4 other flavors on our new menu that will give you that “Fall is here” feeling.

First up is Apple - probably Pumpkin’s biggest competition. It’s a little sweeter, and when paired with a light or medium coffee roast, it can help balance the coffee’s natural acidity. This is why Apple and coffee work well together. Since Alma makes all of our syrups in-house, you can expect our Apple Pie Latte to taste like a real apple pie, with a creamy top and added granola for a little crunch. Our Apple Pie latte is like the friend who comes over with a blanket and a plan.

Next up is Brown Butter, the underdog but never less cozy than the others. Brown butter pairs so well with coffee because they both have that deep, nutty, roasted flavor. Our house-made brown butter syrup adds a rich and creamy taste, reminiscent of toffee, and the shortbread cookie crumble topping brings it all together. Our Brown Butter Pecan Latte is sophisticated, before being sophisticated was trendy.

Now, let’s talk about Peanut Butter - I know, this may be a controversial one. It’s not what you traditionally associate with Fall or with coffee. But it holds its own in the category. Peanut Butter is creamy and salty, but not overly sweet. This makes our Peanut Butter Cup latte the perfect drink if you are looking for a Fall pick me up that is on the unique and less sweet side. 

Last, but certainly not least, and my personal favorite on this year’s Fall menu: The Pan de Pan Latte. Inspired by Latin-style bread pudding, Budín de Pan, our Pan de Pan Latte is that friend who is sweet and nostalgic. This may be the coziest of them all, offering spices like cinnamon and nutmeg - perfect for enjoying next to a fireplace. The skull shaped cookie on top is the “icing on the cake” to complete our Day of the Dead theme.
