Our hiring structure is one in which we look at your past experience and position preference to see if you would be a good fit in a current opening or perhaps a completely new career path altogether. Our roastery team flourishes in multi-tasking! Although we have separate roles, part of the fun is learning a little bit of all roastery functions including; roasting, fulfillment, deliveries, and even slinging shot of 'spro. We have intentionally designed our roastery & cafe to encourage conversation, laughter, and good times while working. 

Roasters

Roasters focus primarily on production roasting on our 2 Loring Smart Roasters; a 15 kilo Falcon and a 35 kilo Kestrel. Although we focus primarily on coffee from our 5th generation coffee farms in Honduras, part of the roasting role includes sourcing our other origin coffees as ethically as possible. As a roaster you will be responsible for:

- Green bean quality management which includes having direct conversations with our farm team

- Maintaining daily roast, quality control, and cupping reports

- Sample roasting and evaluating other origin green bean coffees for purchase

- Developing new roasts


Experience in this position is highly preferred, ideally someone with at least one year of experience in commercial specialty coffee. Additionally a Q-grader certification would be preferred.


Pay for roasters is discretionary based on experience.

Production & Fulfillment

Our production & fulfillment team specializes in making sure every single order placed online goes out timely and perfectly. As a part of the production & fulfillment team you will be responsible for: 

- Pulling reports of all orders going out for the day

- Labeling and dating coffee bags

- Filling, grinding, sealing coffee bags

- Packaging bags in mailers or boxes for shipment

- Coordinating shipping carriers pickups

- Assisting the cafe team with in person coffee bag purchases


The ideal candidate for our production & fulfillment team is one who can be on their feet all day, is high energy, and thrives off being around others. This position may also include doing local deliveries to our wonderful wholesale clients. A company car is provided for deliveries.


Pay for production and fulfillment begins at $12/hour (with a 90 day trial period at $10/hour). Assistant managers make $13.50/hour. Managers make $17/hour. Tips from the cafe are split 70% cafe and 30% fulfillment, which equates to an additional $2-3 per hour for the production and fulfillment team.

Barista

Our cafe team specializes in making the in person experience at our roastery and cafe extraordinary. As the welcoming face and most of the time first impression of our company, this role is of upmost importance. As a barista you will be responsible for: 

- Welcoming customers and sharing the Alma story

- Helping guide customers through both our roasted coffee offerings and drink offerings

- Dialing in espresso multiple times a day

- Developing and production crafting our in house made syrups

- Engaging all customers and ensuring you are the best interaction they have all day

- Delivering all milk based drinks with latte art

- Maintaining a clean and organized work area

- Jumping in and helping with fulfillment and production during down times


The ideal candidate for a barista position Is high energy, passionate, and electric to be around. Imagine meeting someone and instantly feeling like they are your best friend! Additionally, being able to multitask such as carrying a conversation while crafting a delicious beverage.


Pay for baristas begins at $12/hour (with a 90 day trial period at $10/hour). Assistant managers make $13.50/hour. Managers make $15/hour. Tips from the cafe are split 70% cafe and 30% fulfillment, which equates to an additional $5-8 per hour for the cafe team.

Green Bean

The green bean business development role is focused on forming direct trade relationships with amazing coffee roasters around the world. We warehouse our green coffee in our climate controlled warehouse in North Georgia and other warehouses across the United States. Whether it's a one sack, a pallet, or an entire container of green bean, we can make it happen! As a green bean sales representative you will be responsible for:

- Tracking green bean inventory and accounts receivables

- Staying in contact and up to date with the farm team on new processes, upcoming lots, and new direct trade relationships

- Initiating and following up on sales calls, emails, and social media messages

- Taking clients to our family farms in Honduras

- Coordinating LTL pickups and ensuring delivery was made

- Sample roasting for green bean clients

- Maintaining CRM up to date


Sales experience in this position is highly preferred. The ideal candidate will be self motivated, organized, highly proficient in microsoft office, and retain lots of information about our different coffees. A passport will be required, you will be traveling frequently both locally, nationally, and internationally.


Pay for green bean sales rep includes a base salary and commission of sales. An existing book of clients or partial book of clients may be inherited for this position.

Roasted Coffee

The roasted coffee business development role is focused on bringing the freshest and highest quality Alma Coffee to business all over the United States (and possibly internationally). As a roasted coffee sales representative you will be responsible for:

- Initiating and following up on sales calls, emails, and social media messages

- Hosting wholesale potentials at our roastery for 1 on 1 tours

- Communicating our story and various details on our different offerings

- Taking clients to our family farms in Honduras

- Inputing orders into our ordering system

- Some local deliveries

- Checking in with clients both in person, over the phone, and online

- Maintaining CRM up to date


Sales experience in this position is highly preferred. The ideal candidate will be self motivated, organized, highly proficient in microsoft office, and retain lots of information about our different coffees. A passport will be required, you will occasionally be traveling locally, nationally, and internationally.


Pay for a roasted coffee sales rep includes a base salary and commission of sales. An existing book of clients or partial book of clients may be inherited for this position.

Operations

Our operations team specializes in helping make sure all business lines are running smoothly and have the tools they need to succeed. As a part of overall operations, you will be responsible for understanding each business line, how it functions, and occasionally working in that role to look for optimization and improvement opportunities. As a part of the operations team will be responsible for: 

- Inventory tracking and ordering

- New product development and ordering

- Working with ownership on new equipment and automation investments

- Implementing new software and hardware

- Performing or coordinating maintenance on equipment

- Assisting with customer inquires over email and phone


The ideal candidate for our operations department is one who is highly proficient on a computer and with microsoft office, has great communication skills, is trustworthy, and willing to try new things even if they don't always work out.


Pay for our operations department begins at $15 an hour. Operation managers make $17 an hour.

Digital Media

Our digital media department is an integral part of our marketing departmetn. As a part of our digital media team, you will be responsible for: 

- Marketing campaign strategies for the year

- Engagement with followers on all social media platforms

- Posting engaging and relevant content on all social media platforms

- Curating SEO optimized blogs

- Managing and crafting relevant and engaging email marketing campaigns

- Managing and crafting relevant and engaging SMS marketing campaigns

- Working with content teams on photoshoots

- Staying up to date on new product offerings to then market online

- Some content creation

- Assisting with online store design and updates


Experience with social media and writing is highly preferred for this position. Proficiency in Adobe Suite, Canva, and Microsoft Office is a requirement. Must have a personality that translates into the digital world and can't be afraid to do quirky things for online platforms


Pay for digital media positions is salary and includes paid time off.

Advertising & Web Management

Our advertising and web design role is focused on the online purchasing experience and bringing a continued nationwide awareness of Alma Coffee. As a part of our advertising and web design team, you will be a integral part of the marketing team and will be responsible for: 

- Online platform management

- SEO optimization

- Responding to customer inquiries, reviews, and making order updates

- Digital ad creation, management, and tracking (google, facebook, instagram, physical mailers)

- Assisting with content creation (photography, videos, and graphic design)


Experience with social media and writing is highly preferred for this position. Proficiency in Adobe Suite, Canva, and Microsoft Office is a requirement. Must have a personality that translates into the digital world and can't be afraid to do quirky things for online platforms


Pay for advertising and web management positions is salary and includes paid time off.

Content Creator

Our content creators are both outsourced and in house. As a part of the content creation team you will be responsible for: 

- Shooting and editing beautiful visuals, both photos and film

- Thinking outside the coffee norm and coming up with new and engaging ways to tell our coffee story


The ideal candidate for our content creators has a lively personality and knows their craft! Help us understand your style so we can work together to bring our vision to life.


Pay for content creators is contract based and varies based on the job(s) at the moment in time.

Administrative Assistant

Our administrative assistant will work closely with owners Harry and Leticia. As an administrative assistant you will be responsible for:

- Answering customer inquires via email and phone and updating orders or placing orders when needed

- Reviewing, updating, and scheduling the Alma team

- Managing time off requests

- Sending invoices and managing accounts receivables

- Pulling weekly reports on sales and social medias by business line or platform

- Coordinating travel plans both nationwide and internationally

- Depositing checks

- Assisting with accounting needs such as transaction categorization and monthly reconciliations


The ideal administrative assistant is organized, regimented, and highly proficient in microsoft office.
