How to Create a Holiday Coffee Bar at Home: Essentials, Ideas & Tips
Share
November has arrived, which means colder weather and more time indoors with the people you love. Whether it’s hosting a party, having a small get-together with friends or family, or just snuggling with your partner on the couch during a cold and rainy Sunday, having a good coffee bar setup is a MUST during this time of year. Let’s dive into the essentials needed to make your coffee bar setup so good that your friends will be visiting your house instead of Starbucks this holiday season.
Let’s start with the obvious: the coffee selection! I recommend a bright-medium roast like our Belen Gualcho for a smooth and creamy taste. It’s a popular choice that is bound to have your guests feeling like they are at a high-end coffee shop. Our Soulmate is also a popular choice if you are looking for something a little darker than the Belen. Of course, we can’t leave our caffeine-sensitive friends out, so choose a good decaf as well to make sure everyone is happy. We have two great decafs, Dreamer and Slumber, but I personally prefer the Dreamer. Make sure to get whole bean coffee for the freshest experience!
Now let’s talk about brewing methods. I recommend getting a good-quality drip coffee maker so you can serve several guests at once. For smaller groups, a French press is great, too, for that immaculate full-bodied coffee experience. Save that for when you have your “coffee connoisseur” friends over. How dare they think they know coffee better than you!
Finally, set up your coffee station using either a designated counter area OR, even better, a cute thrifted side table that is spacious and adds to the aesthetic. Aesthetics are important to the coffee experience! Have everything organized neatly and maybe even add signs with coffee options. If you are using whole beans, I recommend storing them in our airtight, stainless steel containers. Make sure your coffee bar has mugs, napkins, and stirrers available. Lastly, have both milk and alternative milk options.
If you REALLY want to make your coffee bar setup feel like a coffee shop, there are a few bonus things you can add: flavored syrups (don’t forget sugar-free options, too!), toppings like cinnamon and cocoa powder, sweeteners, and maybe even a custom menu to choose from.
And just like that, your coffee bar is ready to go. This setup is sure to impress your friends and make them feel like they’ve walked into their favorite local coffee shop. The only question I have left for you is: when can I come over? :)
