Did you know in 2018, when we opened the doors to our roastery in Canton, Georgia, we never planned to include a functioning coffee shop?  

The original plan was to solely roast coffee beans imported from our family farms in Honduras to sell online. The roastery in Canton, Georgia would serve as our operations headquarters where we would roast, package, and ship coffee.  

Turns out the people of Cherokee County were far more interested in specialty coffee beans than we ever realized. Before we knew it, more and more people started pulling into the driveway and coming into the roastery to ask how they could try our coffee. That’s when we knew it was time to get serious about adding a coffee shop to our space. 

Our Roastery & Café 

Surrounded by the beautiful landscape of the North Georgia mountains and pine trees lies our little coffee shop right off Holly Springs Parkway; a quick hop, skip, and a jump from the interstate.  

Looking from the road, you’ll find what looks to be someone’s home (okay, for some of us, that’s kind of true), but don’t let looks fool you! Once you pull up into the driveway, you’ll also see our giant 4,500 square foot roastery and our adorable outdoor seating area. Then, once you take a step inside the roastery, you’ll be met with ocean blue and crystal white tiling – an homage to the design style of homes and buildings found in Honduras. Alongside our incredibly talented interior designer, we’ve worked hard to cultivate a space that not only brings you a sense of joy but also represents our gorgeous farmlands. In a world of drive-thrus and coffee that brews in less than a minute, we know that pulling up our steep driveway, finding a parking spot, and waiting in line at the counter is not the most convenient, so if you've managed to take the time out of your day to stop by, we just want to say a HUGE thank you!  

Thank you supporting our small business and our coffee shop. There are so many places that you can get your coffee, but you consistently show up and choose us, and for that we are eternally grateful. The amount of love and support that we have received and continue to receive on a daily basis is nothing short of astounding. We cannot wait to watch how you help us continue to blossom and grow in the future.

Next time you pay a visit to Alma, try out our Order Ahead feature! We know life can be hectic and when you need your coffee, you need it NOW. We’ve got you! With the order ahead feature, you can order your coffee while loading up in the car. Then when you get here, just park in our “espresso parking,” come on in and grab your coffee off the counter. The Order Ahead feature gives you the grab-and-go experience that you need on those days when you just have too much to get done.   

New Hours 

To make the Order Ahead feature even sweeter, we’ve extended our hours! We are now open Monday-Friday from 7am-4pm and Saturday-Sunday from 8am-4pm! Now you can stop by on your way to work without waiting in line!
