Coffee Description

Nestled high up in the mountains of the Copan Region, you'll find Finca El Igueral. Owned by Hugo Alvarado, this farm specializes in growing coffee harmoniously with nature, some of the coffee trees are even decades old! Coffee trees this old are a testament to his care and commitment to natural growing practices which have resulted in them surviving and producing for so long.

Hugo is actually a part of the Lopez family and is a cousin to co-owner Al Lopez! Hugo grew up with Al in Corquin and together they learned the ins and outs of being coffee farmers. Now, as an adult, Hugo is focused on sustainable farming and showing his kids the same skills and grit he has learned about coffee and making an honest living.

So what is Yellow Catuai? It is a super delicious coffee variety from Finca El Igueral. With so few trees of this variety and the delicate nature of the honey process, we only received 7 sacks! We are so excited for you to try this limited release coffee as it has blown all of us away with its unique notes of fresh raspberry, dry white wine, and pink peppercorn.
